Plasma Computers Ltd, is a company that creates on-line electronic shops, based on free software for small and medium size companies. Those companies are trying to offer their products on the Internet in order to increase their income and be able to survive in a very difficult period for the Greek Economy. Those companies, are spending as less money as possible, because the existence of many problems in Greek Economy and Greek Internet Business.
Software patents will make 99% of those on-line stores illegal, because they use open source software like mambo, oscommerce, and other freeware, shareware or small commercial packages. Those companies will NOT afford to pay more for an electronic shop that hardly survive, and they will be stop working.
In Greece, European community and the Greek Government gives money and opportunities to small businesses with the "go-online" program, in order to make small and medium size companies to expand their business in the Internet. With Software patents, those money (that the European Community gives) will be thrown away because 90% of those on-line shops will be consider as illegal. Owners will not spend more money to that and they will be shut down.
That's why software patents will be the final step to destroy small and medium size companies in Greece.
