" Patents are a nightmare! We are currently fighting with half a dozen software patents, for example one patent on the use of TCP/IP in mold injection machines, another on the use of software components in connection with plastic production machines, and yet another one whose only inventive achievement lies in the use of a pointer devices for controlling industrial production machinery. None of these patents represents any merit, they are just about the application of elementary logical operations to well-known physical phenomena. During recent months we have spent countless hours wading through unreadable texts which claimed to be about some great invention. In all these texts, we were able to recognise only one invention: that of a big money transfer machine that steals valuable ressources from the industry and spits out money for patent offices and patent lawyers.
